The Aesthetic industry will soon be regulated and this ensures fair and quality training for all, including medical support, which is something suppliers and insurers may request.

Pre-requisites:

Entry to the qualification will be through a centre interview.

Learners must be aged 18 or over.

There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.

Learners should be able to work at Level 3 and above.

Learners must demonstrate first aid procedures as part of their assessment, as they would in a real work environment, including providing CPR to a casualty on the floor. Therefore, learners must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor.

Learners must have sufficient command of the English language to understand and undertake the recommended assessment methods for this qualification.

Units covered:

  • Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis

Course duration: 1 day estimated completion time

Qualification attained: QUALIFI Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support & Management of Anaphylaxis

Course structure: 

The Level 3 qualification comprises of one unit of Short Answer Questions (SAQs) and one practical day.

The SAQs will test your theoretical knowledge, while the practical day will allow you to apply what you’ve learnt in a hands-on setting.

This combination of theory and practical application ensures a well-rounded learning experience.

How much practical experience will I get?

You will have the opportunity to complete several practical BLS tasks using simulation:

• Recovery position on live models

• CPR and AED carried out on a resuscitation manikin

• Practice using training adrenaline injectors when simulating the treatment of anaphylaxis

Are these official regulated qualifications?

This is a QUALIFI qualification that is Ofqual regulated and internationally recognised.

Who are QUALIFI? 

QUALIFI is a leading OFQUAL regulated Awarding Organisation founded to meet the developing education and training needs of learners and employers from the UK and internationally. Qualification are mapped to occupational standards to ensure they meet industry standards.

What is the difference between this qualification and a CPD qualification?

Although CPD qualifications are insurable and are still available, these courses are not regulated and are not internationally recognised.

When the new regulations come into force you may be required to have a Level 5 & Level 7 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice to administer injectable treatments.

If i’m already trained, will I receive a discount?

Prior learning will be negotiated and assessed on an individual basis.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a method of assessment that considers whether a learner can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills they already possess and do not need to develop through a course of learning.

You will be required to provide evidence of your current certificates.

NB: Prior learning and achievement must be current i.e. you must have been practicing all treatments for the last three years.
