What is Laser Carbon Facial?
A Carbon Laser Peel (also known as a Carbon Laser Facial) is a superficial skin resurfacing treatment that helps to diminish imperfections, tighten pores and eliminate impurities on the face such as blackheads whilst simultaneously plumping and tightening the skin.
Despite the name, a carbon laser peel isn’t a traditional chemical peel – instead it uses a carbon solution and laser technology to create a peeling effect.
It is a non-invasive and painless carbon-based treatment, highly effective for creating a clear, bright, and firm complexion instantly with zero downtime.
How does it work & what does it involve?
The laser carbon facial is a two-stage process.
Before the treatment begins the skin will be double cleansed.
A layer of carbon paste is then applied to the skin – this penetrates deep into the pores.
As the carbon dries, it attaches itself to dirt, oil or dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.
After 10 Minutes the carbon paste will have dried and is ready to be lasered.
The laser will be passed over the carbon paste. The light from the laser is highly attracted to the carbon particles. The carbon absorbs the light energy, binds to the epidermis and causes it to fragment the carbon into tiny particles. A smoke evaporator attached to the laser will remove the carbon as well as the debris and impurities it contains.
As the laser makes contact with the carbon, there will be a loud audible ‘crack’. Although loud, this is nothing to worry about, this is just the sound of the laser vaporising the carbon.
As the heat from the laser is pulsed deep into the skin, the skin’s natural healing mechanisms are activated in the deeper layers.
Cellular turnover is stimulated, and fibroblasts are ignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin.
Over the following few weeks the regenerative results will continue.
For longer term change in the tone, firmness and radiance of the skin, multiple treatments are recommended.
Does it hurt?
During the procedure you may experience slight tingling and warmth on the skin however this is not painful.
